Privacy Policy
What Cortex Relay Does
Cortex Relay is an SSH client that connects directly to your own computer. It does not route your data through any third-party servers.
Data We Don't Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your SSH credentials
- We do not access, read, or log your terminal sessions
- We do not collect analytics, usage data, or personal information
- We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs
What Stays on Your Device
- SSH credentials — stored in the iOS Keychain with optional biometric (Face ID/Touch ID) protection. Never transmitted.
- Voice recordings — processed entirely on-device using WhisperKit. Audio never leaves your phone.
- Connection settings — server addresses, directory paths, and preferences stored locally in the app sandbox.
Push Notification Service
If you enable push notifications, a lightweight relay server receives webhook requests containing only a notification title and message, forwards them to Apple's Push Notification service (APNs), and immediately discards them. No notification content is stored. The webhook token is generated on your device and is the only identifier the relay sees.
Third-Party Services
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — used to deliver push notifications if enabled. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- WhisperKit models — downloaded from Hugging Face Hub when you choose to install a Whisper model. Subject to Hugging Face's terms.
SSH Connections
All SSH connections are made directly from your device to the server you configure. Cortex Relay does not proxy, intercept, or inspect SSH traffic. The connection is end-to-end encrypted by the SSH protocol.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be posted on this page.
